The cross departmental approach at such a small company enhances your skill set beyond any learning of the classroom setting. You will have the opportunity to work with almost every department. What you'll get to do

  • Research and source materials, trims, fabric, etc based on the seasonal collection needs 
  • Prepare fabrics and supplies for factories and ensure on-time delivery 
  • Support atelier with inventory management and procure supplies/services in the garment district  
  • Prepare swatch and sketch updates for atelier patternmakers  
  • Organize samples for weekly fittings, and organize and prepare samples for show/photoshoot   
  • Research, evaluate and track sustainable fabrics, knits and trims  

 

A reasonable estimate of the current hourly rate is $16.50/hour.

  • Attention to detail 
  • Organizational skills 
  • Ability to multi-task 
  • Strong desire to learn 
  • Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe Suite (Photoshop skills a plus) 
  • Knowledge of fabric and fabric types 
  • Knowledge of the garment district  
  • Understands how to read patterns and basic hand sewing and machine sewing is a plus
