Product Development & Atelier Manager (Temporary) - Carolina Herrera (Fashion)

The Opportunity

The Product Development & Atelier Manager will coordinate the development of garments and ensure that patterns and samples meet our quality and design standards.

What you'll get to do

Product Development

  • Maintain seasonal development calendar and track milestones to ensure fittings, sample reviews, and final approvals are completed on time.
  • Attend fittings and take notes and photos to distribute to patternmakers, Tech Design, and factories.
  • Manage factory sample making and distribute materials, cut tickets, BOMs, as needed.
  • Oversee the distribution of seasonal fabrics and monitor fabric deadlines.
  • Assist in maintaining seasonal WIP report chart following daily design updates.
  • Oversee hand-off all developments to production team, including passing cut sheets and maintaining BOM records for each style.
  • Issue development POs and build BOMs using PLM system.
  • Receive, review, and approve factory invoices and track seasonal budget.
  • Assist with all tasks related to show/shoot preparation and market preparation.

 

Atelier Management

  • Manage workflow of patterns, samples, and alterations in the atelier based on seasonal deliverables.
  • Optimize resource allocation and manage the atelier's day-to-day operations to maximize productivity.
  • Oversee materials inventory and equipment maintenance. Organizer replenishment of supplies and repairs as needed.
  • Oversee handoffs from design to patternmakers and provide technical expertise in construction and finishings. Act as a liaison between patternmakers and design throughout development.
  • Implement and maintain quality control standards for both patterns and finished garments. Ensure that all patterns and samples meet the brand’s quality criteria.
  • Source and onboard freelance staff as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, and workplace safety standards.

We'd love to meet you if you have

  • College degree or relevant experience in Product Development.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Product Development
  • Strong organization and attention to details.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ability to multitask.
  • Experience with product management systems such as GCS, RLM, PLM.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

 

A reasonable estimate of the current salary is $100,000-$115,000 USD.
