The Opportunity
The scope of the Knit Technical Designer shall be to partner with and complement the Company’s VP of Production and VP of Product Development to assist on various projects.
What you'll get to do
- Establish and create beautiful fit on each garment, both for show sample, and for production, and to ensure design’s aesthetic is maintained throughout the product life cycle.
- Partner with design to create measurement pages for initial proto launch (including new styles, as well as creating measurement pages for new versions of existing styles)
- Work on special styles with design, when unusual points of measure are involved, and/or when style lines are mapped out on the dress form, or where a drape needs to be interpreted into POM‘s.
- Prepare any Jersey cut and sew styles
- Prepare and/or launch any paperwork/ TP’s for carry-over styles
- Partner with design to track protos ready date
- Measure all prototypes upon arrival, conduct fittings with design, transmit /relay all proto fit comments to factories.
- Return pinned protos to vendors, when issuing proto fit comments and request any 2nd protos when required
- Keep detailed records of all proto measurement tables
- Measures in all show samples before they are tried on
- Review garments with design and/or production on show sample & production model as needed, to prepare for PPS launch
- Create SIZE M measurements and launch PPS with all vendors
- Establish CH grade rules with all knitwear factories
- Lead all knitwear production fittings and communicate all production fit comments
- Establish final production fit / production grading for each style while overall establishing brand construction standards within knitwear category (starting at the development phase).
A reasonable estimate of the current hourly rate is $55/hour-$65/hour USD.

- Fashion design degree required
- 3-5 years relevant luxury industry experience
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with ease
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel, Photoshop
