The Opportunity

The Benefits Manager is responsible for design, strategy, and administration of employee benefits. The position provides guidance and assistance to 500+ employees who are geographically disbursed throughout the USA in various Puig Beauty & Fashion business units under a shared service agreement. The position will identify inefficiencies and make recommendations related to process improvement and plan design. 

What you'll get to do

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Director as necessary. 

  • Manage and administer employee benefits programs such as medical, dental, vision plans, life insurance plans, retirement plans, leave programs and 401(k) distributions and rollovers.  
  • Maintain and administer the leave of absence process with third party FMLA/disability and workers compensation carriers and vendors 
  • Assist employees with benefit claim issues through communication with representatives at appropriate insurance providers 
  • Manage benefits broker and vendor relationship to ensure top-notch customer service is provided 
  • Partner with benefits brokers and vendors to assess and review benefit programs to ensure compliance with regulations and that we offer a competitive package within the industry 
  • Network with industry contacts, analyze external benchmarking, conduct market research and review latest services 
  • Keep abreast of external environment for emerging trends, regulatory and compliance changes, and best practices 
  • Participate in annual benefits renewal process; review all data and options to negotiate best rates and secure optimal plan design 
  • Manage all aspects and roll-out of Annual Open Enrollment 
  • Develop benefit information, prepare benchmarking, and provide statistical and census data for internal reporting, actuaries, and insurance carriers. 
  • Review and reconcile monthly benefit vendor invoices, coding into SAP financial. 
  • Audit employee data management to ensure existing and new participants are properly set up within the system 
  • Oversee various audits including IRS, DOL, 401(k) plan, Workers Compensation, and any internal audit reviews 
  • Prepare all government filings such as Form 5500, Summary Annual Reports, and Non-Discrimination testing 
  • Assist Director with annual compensation and budgeting. 
  • Owns the US wellness initiatives. 
  • Designs, coordinates, and implements monthly employee wellness initiatives, programs, seminars, and workshops  
  • Event planning and logistics  
  • Manages annual wellness budget 
  • Hits employee engagement quotas and evaluates the success of programs and determine what improvements can be made 

We'd love to meet you if you have

  • Bachelor’s degree required  
  • 7+ years of relevant experience  
  • Expert skills/experience using ADP Workforce Now; SAP experience preferred.  
  • Strong organization and computer skills, including MS Office  
  • Self-starter with the ability to successfully work independently  
  • Ability to analyze, problem solve and clearly communicate to all levels of employees throughout the organization 
  • Ability to maintain close attention to detail in work performed and meet deadlines with high level of accuracy 
  • Knowledge of plan provisions and IRS and ERISA requirements 
  • Solid knowledge of New York and California Payroll/Benefits/Leave laws 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Annual base salary range of $100,000 - $120,000.
