The Opportunity

The Atelier Manager will manage a team of patternmakers and seamstresses, coordinate the development and production of garments, and ensure that patterns and samples meet our brand's quality and design standards.

What you'll get to do

Team Management

  • Lead and supervise the atelier team, including patternmakers, seamstresses, and other technical staff. Provide guidance, support, and professional development to ensure high performance and skill advancement.

 

Pattern Development

  • Oversee the creation and refinement of patterns for all collections, ensuring accuracy, fit, and adherence to design specifications. Manage the patternmaking process from initial concept through to final approval.

 

Sample Development Production

  • Coordinate the development production of garment samples, working closely with the design team to ensure that samples reflect the intended design and fit. Review and approve samples, making necessary adjustments to patterns and construction.

 

Quality Control

  • Implement and maintain quality control standards for both patterns and finished garments. Ensure that all patterns and samples meet the brand’s quality criteria and production requirements.

 

Workflow Optizimation

  • Develop and implement efficient processes and workflows for patternmaking and sample development production. Optimize resource allocation and manage the atelier's day-to-day operations to maximize productivity.
  • Work closely with designers and fabric developers and production teams to facilitate smooth communication and ensure that design intent is accurately translated into final products. Address any issues related to fit, construction, or production feasibility.
  • Budget & Inventory Management: Manage the budget for the atelier and patternmaking department. Oversee inventory of materials and supplies, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and cost-effectively.

 

Technical Expertise

  • Provide technical guidance on garment construction, fabric properties, and patternmaking techniques. Partner with the tech design team and stay informed about industry trends and advancements to incorporate best practices into the workflow.

 

Administrative

  • Maintain development calendars and track milestones to ensure fittings, sample reviews, and final approvals are completed on time.
  • Lead and participate in fit sessions, documenting revisions and ensuring all pattern, construction, and measurement updates are accurately communicated and executed.

We'd love to meet you if you have

  • College degree or relevant experience preferred
  • 7-10 years of experience in Product Development
  • Strong organization and attention to details
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, high level of accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

A reasonable estimate of the current salary is $100,000-$115,000 USD.
