The Opportunity

The Global Retail Executive would be a key member, responsible for driving sustainability initiatives within our retail operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sustainable architecture and a deep understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. This role will be crucial in facilitating the company's commitment to achieving and exceeding our sustainability goals in the retail area, ensuring that we align our stores and point of sales with the ESG company strategy.

•    Leverage Sustainable Building Practices: Apply expertise in sustainable building materials and construction techniques to minimize the environmental footprint of retail projects.
•    Environmental Impact Analysis: Conduct comprehensive assessments of the company's retail environmental impact, pinpointing areas for enhancement and new opportunities.
•    Sustainability Innovation: Remain up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging sustainability trends, and cutting-edge technologies, proposing innovative solutions to drive sustainability initiatives.
•    Design Standards Compliance: Ensure that all retail projects adhere to sustainability objectives and design standards.
•    Guideline Development: Collaborate with brands to develop sustainable design guidelines, fostering a commitment to eco-conscious practices.
•    Performance Monitoring: Establish and manage systems for monitoring and reporting sustainability performance, regularly updating progress toward set goals.
•    Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to champion green initiatives across the organization, offering expert guidance and advice on sustainability-related matters.
•    Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant sustainability regulations and certifications, such as LEED, BREEAM, and ESG frameworks, and ensure company-wide compliance.
•    Issue Resolution: Identify and address issues that could potentially impact project schedules or costs, proactively mitigating risks.
•    KPI Analysis and Action Plans: Continuously analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and formulate action plans to achieve target sustainability levels.
 

We'd love to meet you if you have

Experience:
•    Equipped with a Master’s degree in architecture.
•    Solid sustainability background experience (min. 3 years), ideally within Retail projects.
•    Highly skilled in AutoCAD 
•    A self-starter with the proven ability to work independently and on tight timelines
•    An excellent communicator with strong soft skills
•    Experienced in working with cross functional teams within & outside of the company (such as consulting firms, suppliers…)
•    Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders, confident in presenting and sharing information effectively in cross functional teams


Education:
•    Master's degree in Architecture
•    Proven experience in sustainable/green architecture


Languages:
•    Spanish and English proficiency working level 
•    French would be an added value


Competencies:
•    Ability to work in a multi-stakeholder setup
•    Ability to work in fast paced environment


Specific Knowledge required:
•    Used to interact with multifunctional and multicultural teams
•    Expert in ESG principles, green building standards, sustainable design, energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, eco-friendly materials, and overall environmentally responsible design, including net zero carbon (NZC) solutions
•    Flexibility to adapt and handle priority changes
•    Must be an organized and motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills who thrives on working in a fast-paced team environment; very strong campaign and project management skills
•    Ability to manage multiple projects at a time; excellent organizational and prioritization skills
•    Keen attention to detail
