The Opportunity
Reporting to the Quality Director, the Supplier Quality Specialist ensures the quality and reliability of high‑quality packaging components by developing, strengthening and monitoring the performance of external suppliers. The role contributes to the company’s Quality Assurance strategy through cross‑functional collaboration, supplier governance and continuous improvement initiatives, reinforcing a consistent quality culture across the organization.
What you'll get to do
- Lead the quality oversight of primary packaging suppliers (glass, plastic, metal, pumps, decor), ensuring compliance with specifications, standards and cosmetic industry requirements.
- Plan and execute supplier audits (qualification, process, GMP and follow‑up), identifying risks, documenting findings and driving action plans to closure.
- Own the full lifecycle of non‑conformities: opening, investigation, supplier follow‑up, verification of corrective actions and formal closure.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs, defect trends and recurring issues, proactively identifying opportunities for quality and process improvement.
- Collaborate with suppliers to strengthen their control plans, testing methods, defect detection systems and preventive quality practices.
- Provide technical support on primary packaging issues in collaboration with Development, Procurement, Operations and external manufacturing partners.
- Participate in new product launches, ensuring suppliers meet validation, testing and documentation requirements before production start.
- Drive continuous improvement by proposing process enhancements, best practices and risk‑mitigation initiatives across the supplier base.
- Maintain and update all relevant quality documentation, including audit reports, CAPAs, Supplier Quality Plans and GMP requirements.
- Conduct regular on‑site visits to suppliers to review progress, verify corrective actions and ensure manufacturing processes remain robust and compliant.

Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, or Quality Engineering within cosmetics, packaging, or other highly demanding industries such as automotive or pharmaceuticals.
- Experience with primary packaging components and/or industrial processes involving plastics, metal, glass or decorated parts.
- Proven experience in supplier audits, non‑conformity management, SCARs, root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
- Cross‑functional collaboration with R&D, Procurement, Manufacturing and external suppliers.
- Familiarity with GMP, process control and digital quality systems (SAP QM or similar).
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Chemical, Materials, Mechanical) or other technical/scientific disciplines relevant to packaging or manufacturing processes.
- Degrees in Chemistry, Biotechnology, or Quality Management are also suitable when combined with experience in packaging or supplier quality.
- A Master’s degree in Quality, Industrial Engineering or Operations is a plus.

Specific Knowledge required:
- Technical knowledge of primary packaging materials (glass, plastic, metal, pumps, decorated parts) including manufacturing processes (molding, forming, injection, assembly) and typical defectology for each material type.
- Experience in supplier audits and quality tools (Root Cause Analysis, 8D, FMEA, Control Plans, Sampling Plans – ISO 2859, ISO22716, ISO9001) applied specifically to packaging components.
- Strong understanding of GMP requirements for cosmetic / packaging suppliers, including hygiene standards and contamination prevention.
- Proficiency with SAP QM and digital quality systems, including master data, inspection plans, quality notifications and supplier performance dashboards.
