The Opportunity

SAP Data Engineer – Specializing in SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, and Data Governance

Location: Barcelona, Spain
Reports To: Business Intelligence Manager

What you'll get to do

We are looking for an experienced SAP Data Consultant with strong expertise in SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and Power BI. Experience with data governance platforms such as Collibra is highly valued. 

This role focuses on delivering data solutions tailored to enterprise-level commercial and retail data. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless data integration, analytics, and governance for enterprise-wide data-driven decision-making while maintaining the standards of security, privacy, and governance.

1.    Data Architecture and Modeling:
    • Design, implement, monitor and optimize data models within SAP Datasphere and/or BW for enterprise data.
    • Create robust models that meet analytics and reporting needs across SAP Analytics Cloud and/or Power BI platforms.

2.    Analytics and Visualization Integration:
    • Configure and manage connections between SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud to enable dashboarding.
    • Establish and optimize Power BI integrations with SAP Datasphere, ensuring seamless data visualization and reporting.

3.    Data Governance:
    • Utilize Data Governance platforms such as Collibra to define, enforce, and manage enterprise-wide data governance policies.
    • Develop frameworks for ensuring data quality, compliance, and traceability across the organization.

4.    Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
    • Regularly assess system performance, analytics workloads, and governance frameworks to ensure efficiency and reliability.
    • Resolve data and integration issues promptly, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.

We'd love to meet you if you have

Technical Expertise:
•    SAP Datasphere, including data modeling and pipeline configurations.
•    Expertise in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for building and maintaining complex dashboards.
•    Proficiency in Power BI with hands-on experience in connecting it to SAP Datasphere for enterprise reporting.
•    Hands-on experience with Collibra or similar Data Governance platforms for managing data quality and compliance.
•    Skilled in ETL tools such as SAP Data Services, Alteryx, or others.

Data Management and Analytics:
•    Strong understanding of enterprise data modeling techniques, including star and snowflake schemas.
•    Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization.
•    Familiarity with advanced analytics tools and techniques within SAP and Power BI ecosystems.

Soft Skills:
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-driven approach.
•    Proven ability to manage projects in an agile development environment.

 

Education and Certifications
•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
•    5+ years of experience in data engineering roles, with a focus on SAP Datasphere, SAC, Power BI, and Data Governance.

 

Preferred Qualifications
•    Certifications in SAP BTP, SAP BW, SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI or Collibra.
•    Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) for hybrid data management solutions.
•    Familiarity with machine learning and predictive analytics integration in SAP Analytics Cloud implementing compliant data solutions.
