Marketing Manager

Mission:

Reporting to the Country Manager, the role is responsible for the development and execution of the marketing strategy and plans for the portfolio of brands in Australia, New Zealand and French Polynesia region ‘Oceania’ to maximize sales and market share.

Functions and Responsibilities:

Marketing Management

 

  • Understand local business challenges and opportunities, communicate with Regional Marketing and Global Brands to build optimized plans for Oceania
  • Develop 3 year marketing calendars and promotional program in line with annual budgets in line with annual budgets and global guidelines - per season/brand/channel to maximize sales revenue and rankings for the portfolio of brands
  • Prepare annual net and retail sales budgets by brand
  • Plan and manage the annual A&P budgets and investments by brand to deliver the annual net sales, retail sales and ranking targets to present launch presentations
  • Build an annual digital business plan and incorporate this in to the roles of the brand managers
  • Liaise with the external PR agency to develop the PR strategy for the brand portfolio to achieve the highest and most valued PR exposure for the brands
  • Develop and coordinate all required elements for the presentations at the seasonal sell-in strategy presentations to retailers
  • Attend and coordinate the presentations of product launches for the sales force at the bi-annual Clarins Sales team roadshows
  • Adopt existing and develop new templates and processes to create consistency and efficiency within the local Marketing team
  • Create, maintain and follow up on marketing calendars, grids and templates
  • Oversee sales forecasting and align to the logistics processes of all SKUs including promotional, basic saleable and basic non-saleable
  • Oversee the pricing strategy and create price lists for distribution to the relevant parties within Clarins Group and PAP Marketing for approval and then implementation
  • Plan store checks/market visits and business review presentations in coordination with the Country Manager for any regional/HQ visits
  • Communicate with the Country Manager regarding any updates/adjustments to the promotional or marketing strategy
  • Communicate regularly with Regional Marketing and Global Brands team for various demands/requirements for key deliverables for the brand portfolio
  • Liaise with various functions - Key Accounts, Visual Merchandising, Finance, Logistics and Training to ensure alignment in execution with the marketing and brand portfolio strategies
  • Ensure that all requests by the sales force are processed in a timely manner

 

Inventory Management

 

  • Ensure forecasts are in line with budgets
  • Oversee inventory control including forecasting, obsolescence, non-allocated, excess inventory and monthly purchase order approval
  • Develop plans for obsolescence, on-allocated and excess inventory

 

 

 

Media Planning

 

  • Liaise with Global Brands and Regional Marketing on media planning and development
  • Identify and collaborate with local agency for media plans for the subsidiary

 

Visual Merchandising

 

  • Develop and own the Retail Excellence Plan in coordination with the Country Manager
  • Work closely with the In Store Manager to define how to adapt/utilize brand guidelines to maximize customer interest and sales
  • Approve all point of sales material, creative/graphic design and production in collaboration with the In Store Manager

 

Team Management

 

  • Develop, coach, mentor and motivate direct report(s)
  • Lead by example to develop a high performing marketing team

 

Requirements:

  • Experience: Good experience in forecasting and management of stock and obsolescence, Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing and developing a marketing team. Experienced in working within the relevant channels of distribution, A solid understanding of margins and pricing structures
  • Education: Bachelor or Masters in Marketing/International Marketing
  • Languages: English
