Training Manager, SEA and Greater India

Location: Singapore



The role reports into the Retail Function of Asia Pacific and will drive the education and training initiatives of Puig’s multiple fragrance and make-up brands, enabling brand ambassadors and promoters to represent our brands well on the retail floor. The Training Manager will design and implement training to sales to strengthen their knowledge of our fragrance brands and eventually drive sellout and consumer loyalty across multiple channels (domestic and travel retail) in Southeast Asia and the India subcontinent.

The role requires an excellent communicator who can collaborate well with multiple internal and external teams (clients and distributors). He/she will adapt global brand guidelines and training materials to suit the needs of each brand, market and consumers within the region assigned.


Functions and Responsibilities:

Partnership with Global Education and Training

  • Maintain a close working relationship with the brands’ Training teams and fully understand their strategy and tools
  • Provide feedback on training tools which are cascaded through by HQ and provide insights on local needs

Training Strategy

  • Develop in collaboration with the Retail Manager, Marketing and Commercial teams, a training plan for the region assigned
  • Establish regular and consistent communication and updates on the training plan and tactics to all key internal and external stakeholders
  • Plan and manage the assigned annual training budget

Training Design and Delivery

  • Review and adapt global training material for each brand/market/channel, taking into consideration limitations of time, budgets and the different setups
  • Procure all necessary training materials including (but not limited to):
    • HQ developed materials, which are part of the annual forecasting process
    • Ingredient samples or other training aids, which may be sourced externally
  • Develop local training materials which may not be available from HQ, when necessary.
  • Establish and manage effective regular communication tools required to update brand ambassadors/promoters/distributors’ trainers on Puig and its fragrance brands through multiple communication channels
  • Conduct training workshops, as planned, personally
  • Manage the process of creating, updating and translating current training material/documents to ensure relevancy for the region assigned
  • Train the trainers of local partners and distributors, so that the local BAs/BRs are trained subsequently

Training Delivery Management and Evaluation

  • Create and maintain a training schedule and identify training venues to ensure the optimal use of the annual travel budget and resources
  • Responsible for receiving, arranging, storing and dispatching all training materials at regional office or to external training facilities
  • Provide post training evaluation reports for review with marketing and commercial teams to determine if short term adjustments are needed to the annual training plan



  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in a similar position at a regional level, coming from the cosmetics or FMCG Industry, with some years of experience specifically in fragrances and make-up
  • Education: Degree holder and/or have professional training credentials
  • Languages: Able to train and facilitate workshops in English and Mandarin
  • Competencies and Specific Knowledge required:
    • Strong planning skills
    • Excellent facilitation skills and training administration skills
    • Deadline-oriented and independent
    • Ability to develop and plan content in relation to selling and customer service skills
    • Strong communication skills
    • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint) preferred
    • Awareness of multi-media platforms and education trends in the industry
    • Ability to travel about 35% of the time
