Education Manager

Role Overview:

The Retail Education Manager is responsible for supporting growth and deployment of training and education strategies, assets, and platforms for the North America Market. The manager will focus on developing capability of the field sales force on our brand portfolio to deliver excellent service and a memorable brand experience for existing and new customers.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partners with Sales’ Team to align training and events that will drive sales to meet financial objectives.
  • Drives education department’s creative projects, both digital and non-digital.
  • Coordinate education presentations, videos, and other assets to effectively communicate Brand identity, values, and product details
  • Organizes and presents educational seminars
  • Facilitates webinars and live virtual classroom sessions.
  • Builds and maintains a comprehensive information system for a variety of Education materials such as product knowledge, display concepts, sales techniques, promotion programs, and system/procedural requirements.
  • Responsible for writing and development of product fact sheets and teaching templates for launches.
  • Works closely with Director of Education on  communication strategy.
  • Strategically plans to achieve top training effectiveness, while remaining within budget.
  • Continually stays in the know on competitor activity, pricing, tactics and trends to educate cross-functional teams.
  • Approaches all tasks with an innovative mindset and approach to facilitate necessary change that will support sales and talent development.
  • Ensures timely end-to-end ordering and shipping process:
  • Initiates orders and shipping of education materials
  • Allocation
  • Tracking and availability of required products, gifts, collaterals, samples and equipment for training
  • Manages budget and administration of all tasks for to produce a successful training. Including but not limited to:
  • Preparing cost comparison and analysis for major travel expenses.
  • Maintaining travel and expense budget
  • Preparing expense reports
  • Lead and facilitate special events ( master classes, trend shows, store activations)

 

Partners closely with Area Sales Managers / Account Executives:

  • Works with Area Sales Managers to maximize training effectiveness.
  • Stays connected to consistently evaluate customer and staff needs for excellence.
  • Clearly communicates and provides directions to achieve required results.
  • Schedules local trainings programs to support sales strategy and objectives.
  • Provides input in setting performance objectives for team.
  • Assesses performance of beauty advisors/sales associates to deliver constructive feedback and to create an action-oriented plan for success.
  • Evaluates Special Events and reports recommendations/issues to AEs.
  • Conducts on-the-job education at counter (Face to Face coaching).
  • Serves as professional role model who inspires and motivates Beauty Advisors to consistently uphold a positive Brand image.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or four years of related work experience (plus any additional required experience)
  • 4-6 years’ of related experience in Education, Field Development, Retail Sales, Instructional Design or Team Training.
  • North America Market experience (USA and Canada) is a must; beauty industry experience preferred.
  • Experience working with US retailers and their education platforms/ initiatives.
  • Detail oriented multitasker with proven track record of timely preparation, coordination and facilitation of market trainings.
  • Proficient technical skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe. Must be able to modify files to customize presentations with videos.
  • Excited to deliver on tight deadlines and work on multiple projects at any given time.
  • Demonstrated operational effectiveness of educational programs.

  • Passion for all things beauty.
  • Can work effectively with manager and teams, but also independently.
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle, proof of insurance, and ability to drive and travel long distances for extended periods.
  • 75% domestic travel required.
