Product Development Manager (CHNY Fashion)

SUMMARY

 

ESSENTAIL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Vice President as necessary-

 

  • Collaborate with the creative team and VP of Product Development to launch product using domestic and international factories
  • Coordinate Purchase Orders, technical packages and cut tickets for domestic and international factories 
  • Oversee out-of-house product development from initial sketch, prototype to final sample 
  • Ensure sample perfection through creative input and suggestions, i.e. swatch development, topstitch samples
  • Create seasonal collection reference book for atelier to align all pattern makers and streamline development 
  • Establish fabric swatch reference guide for all pattern makers 
  • Help create product development calendar across all product categories; ensure timely delivery of all samples for look book shoot and for PR and Sales opportunities
  • Constantly balance “make or buy” decisions and make recommendation to VP of Product Development.
  • Prepare fabrics and trims for all out of house product development 
  • Work closely with VP of Product Development to create P.O. system to track and maintain budgets; ensure that pre-costing targets and margins are met 
  • Maintain SKU tracking tool for each season
  • Collaborate with fabric director to prioritize split fabric shipments and deliveries
  • Coordinate with PD coordinator to maintain style master and line sheets
  • Partner with production to guarantee design fulfillment and provide technical information
  • Partner with merchandising to provide detailed style descriptions and technical information
  • Organize the development of Sales and PR duplication requests
  • Organize design fittings for domestic and international manufacturers with the support of PD coordinator 
  • Be knowledgeable and have contacts at domestic and international suppliers; do research when necessary 
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with ease
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel, Photoshop
