The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to join Byredo, an iconic and fast-growing luxury brand at the intersection of beauty, fashion, and lifestyle. As Vice President of Commercial, you will lead Byredo’s commercial and sales strategy across wholesale and owned retail channels, driving both sell-in and sell-out performance with a deep understanding of the luxury consumer. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accelerating revenue growth, enhancing retail excellence, and strengthening strategic partnerships, while growing and optimizing our Brick & Mortar footprint. With a passion for innovation and a sharp eye for brand integrity, you will help shape Byredo’s sales vision in alignment with our broader mission: to translate emotions into unique, sensorial experiences. 

What you'll get to do

Sales Strategy & Execution
•    Drive comprehensive commercial strategy across wholesale and retail channels, leading both sell-in and sell-out initiatives to accelerate revenue growth and expand market share
•    Develop and execute sell-in strategies, from optimizing current door productivity to identifying and securing new distribution opportunities, ensuring strategic alignment and optimal product placement
•    Build effective allocation strategies, partnering with Operations to ensure sufficiency of product in the right doors at the right times
•    Provide visionary sell-out leadership, guiding a national Field Team to deliver an elevated luxury experience at every point of distribution and drive strong door-level performance
•    Continuously monitor and analyze performance data to maximize customer satisfaction, improve conversion, and unlock revenue potential
•    Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and visual teams to ensure cohesive execution at POS and alignment between sales efforts, brand positioning, and promotional strategies

Commercial & Retail Strategy
•    Lead the end-to-end commercial strategy across wholesale and retail channels, driving revenue growth, market share, and brand elevation
•    Develop and execute the retail strategy for brick-and-mortar stores, with a focus on store performance, profitability, clientelling and customer experience
•    Nurture strong relationships with key wholesale accounts and strategic partners to identify growth opportunities and strengthen distribution
•    Identify and evaluate opportunities for retail expansion, including new store openings and market penetration
•    Stay ahead of industry trends and consumer behavior to proactively address challenges and capitalize on opportunities
•    Analyze key retail and sell-out metrics to implement initiatives that increase foot traffic, conversion rates, and sales performance

Team Leadership & Field Execution
•    Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales organization including Key Account, Retail, Sales Operations and Field Sales 
•    Manage team spanning wholesale and owned door, ensuring consistent brand representation and performance at all points of sale
•    Partner with the National Field Sales Lead to train the field team, set sales targets, and achieve door-level goals
•    Set clear performance expectations, provide ongoing coaching, and foster a culture of accountability and collaboration
•    Partner with HR to develop and implement training and development programs to enhance customer engagement and sales capabilities

Financial & Operational Oversight
•    Own and manage the sales P&L, ensuring alignment with financial targets and business objectives
•    Oversee operational budgets tied to freelance staffing, sell-out marketing activities, and investments in retail doors
•    Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts and performance reporting to inform strategic decisions and resource allocation
•    Optimize sales operations, including inventory management, pricing strategies, and promotional planning

We'd love to meet you if you have

•    Bachelor’s degree preferred
•    15+ years of commercial experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing wholesale and retail channels
•    Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets in a consumer-driven industry, preferably beauty, fashion, or luxury goods
•    Strong understanding of retail operations, including brick and mortar store management and customer experience
•    Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams
•    Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights
•    Strong communication and negotiation skills to build relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
•    Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a focus on long-term goals

Compensation Data

As required by New York State’s salary transparency law, effective November 2022, the expected base salary for this position ranges from $230,000.00 - $260,000.00. Various factors are considered when extending offers, such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
