Following the company Purchasing Strategies and Global Policy for Suppliers, Packaging buyers are responsible for providing the materials needed for new product developments or improvement projects at best cost and conditions with a TCO mindset.


Functions and Responsibilities:


Buyers receive information of projects to develop through different departments and established processes. With this information their main functions are:

  • Working together with the technical team, to find solutions and suppliers able to produce the needed materials, at the best cost, fitting quality requirements and accomplishing the supply needs in time and in full.
  • To negotiate with suppliers and make the purchasing proposals to Purchasing Direction respecting the budget (target cost, tooling and investment) and/or generating savings.


Once the purchasing proposal is approved:

  • To elaborate and follow detailed retro-planning with suppliers and internal departments in order to fulfill the company requirements.
  • To review Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and order the materials as per negotiated prices and approved specifications.
  • To ensure the accomplishment of third-party manufacturers, monitoring order deliveries, supplier’s performance and stock level of components.
  • In case there are defective or unacceptable goods to determine cause of the problem with the supplier and take corrective and preventive actions.


Once the period of launching a new product or improvement project has been outdated:


  • To correctly transfer the provisioning responsibility to replenishment service fulfilling internal procedures and requirements.
  • To cooperate with other departments to monitor, evaluate and improve the processes related to cosmetics third-party manufacturers.




  • To have a deep knowledge of the market, materials and suppliers and report findings to the company.
  • To carry out supplier’s prices comparisons, negotiations and cost breakdowns  
  • To inform of all Purchasing related Data, directly in SAP or through other departments, such as: info     record, source list, planning data, logistic data, green dot and customs clearance code.
  • To ensure agreed stocks in suppliers do exist.
  • To solve invoice’s issues if any.




  • Experience: Minimum 2 years. Preferably cosmetic/make up sector
  • Education: University Degree (Engineering)
  • Languages: Must be fluent in Spanish and English. French would be a plus
  • Competencies: Integrity and trust, composure, productive work habits, timeliness of delivery of output, quality of work output, ability to synthetize and simplify complex problems, patience, alignment & compliance: walking the talk, peer relationships, use of resources, adding skills and capabilities, freedom from unplanned support, managing diversity.
  • Specific Knowledge required: Microsoft tools. Negotiation Skills. SAP Procurement MM.
