HR Compensation & Benefits Manager

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS MANAGER

ROLE DEFINITION

Location: Barcelona

 

Mission:

In line with Corporate Compensation & Benefits Director, is responsible for managing the research, design, communication, implementation and administration of Compensation and Benefit (C&B) programs, policies and procedures for assigned countries in region. In this role, evaluates, designs and recommends relevant C&B programs taking into consideration local laws, regulations and market competitiveness to enhance and improve their impact on the business.

 

Responsibilities/ Key Tasks

 

Plan

- Contribute to the definition, development and implementation of a C&B strategy that contributes to the group’s strategy

- Partner with Corporate C&B team to ensure regional programs are aligned with corporate strategy

- Define country-specific initiatives that align rewards systems with business goals and local laws and practices (las per local benchmarks)

- Develop programs that support the company’s ability to attract, retain and reward high performance / potential employees

- In partnership with Corporate C&B team, plan and design local C&B-related HR programs including policies, objectives and initiatives

- Provide research and analytical support in the design and administration of strategic reward programs

 

Plan

- Develop programs that support the company’s ability to attract, retain and reward high performance / potential employees

- In partnership with Corporate C&B team, plan and design local C&B-related HR programs including policies, objectives and initiatives

- Provide research and analytical support in the design and administration of strategic reward programs

- Oversee merit and bonus payout process, which entails the computation, calculations, tracking, final approvals, review and payment of these programs in area

- Manage local C&B survey participation; partner with Corporate C&B in the participation of international surveys to obtain local and regional market data

- Manage vendor relationships inclusive of insurance companies, third-party administrators and law firms

- Ensure the proper administration of mobility provisions affecting C&B

- Support the communication & interpretation of local employee benefit plans to internal customers

- Educate local Human Resources teams in the spirit of continuous improvement of their C&B responsibilities

- Manage on-going audits by regulatory agencies or third-party auditors as needed

- Suggest and implement steps / processes, including technological improvements to make the administration of benefits more timely and automatic

- Functionally lead teams on C&B initiatives as assigned

 

Control

- Provide point-of-need C&B analysis to area HR Director and VP

- Conduct ongoing analysis to determine the effectiveness of variable compensation programs and recommend plan changes when required

- Conduct regular competitive C&B market analysis

- Complete monthly and annual C&B reporting requirements at regional and corporate levels

- Ensure recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently in area of responsibility

- Be knowledgeable of all government regulations governing the C&B area & ensure compliance with reporting requirements.

- Monitor data integrity of various systems

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

Experience:

2 to 5 years of experience as a C&B manager

 

Education:

-     Bachelor in Business Administration

-     Master in HR or Finance (nice to have)

 

Languages:

- Spanish and English fluent

 

Knowledge required:

 

           Compensation & Benefits. Must include design, administration and communication of C&B programs.

Advanced knowledge of benefits programs/practices, compensation practices and policies + ability to evaluate the appropriate Total Rewards mix.               

Good knowledge of government regulations governing C&B area in region

Knowledge of job evaluation methodologies at Hay Group, Mercer or Willis Towers Watson
